For the specific marginalized group to be reviewed, I have chosen indigenous people under ethnic minorities. Indigenous people constitute a diverse and vibrant segment of society, often facing unique challenges that hinder their full participation and enjoyment of societal benefits. A multifaceted approach that addresses systemic issues promotes cultural understanding and enhances opportunities for representation is essential to serve this ethnic minority group better. One crucial aspect is recognizing and dismantling systemic barriers perpetuating inequities (Craig et al., 2020). Policies that inadvertently or systematically disadvantage Indigenous people must be scrutinized and reformed. Also, cultural competency training is paramount for institutions and professionals interacting with ethnic minorities. This training should go beyond surface-level understanding and delve into the nuances of diverse cultures. By fostering cultural competence, institutions can create environments that are tolerant and celebratory of differences. This, in turn, can contribute to improved communication, trust, and collaboration between service providers and indigenous communities.

Representation plays a pivotal role in addressing the needs of indigenous people. In governance, workplaces, and media, efforts should be made to ensure proportional representation. Having individuals from ethnic minorities in decision-making positions can bring diverse perspectives to the forefront and influence policies more reflective of the community's needs. Economic empowerment is fundamental to serving indigenous people effectively. Initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, job training, and access to capital can uplift communities facing economic disparities. Community-based organizations that understand the unique challenges and strengths of ethnic minorities, specifically the indigenous people, can provide tailored support, ranging from educational programs to mental health services. Conclusively, addressing systemic issues, promoting cultural understanding, enhancing representation, supporting economic empowerment, and fostering community-led initiatives are all integral components of a comprehensive strategy.
